Grandmother Spider Brings the Sun: A Cherokee Story tells the tale of how the animals that lived on the dark half of the earth managed to bring a piece of the sun to their side of the world. This story will delight younger children, (4-8 year olds is a good target range, but children of all ages should be able to get something out of it). Sharing this story is part of a larger project of sharing Native American culture and stories with a broader audience, and participating in a movement to help children learn from all the animals and connect with natural world because they are already a part of it in a deep and meaningful way.
