Leo Lionni is a remarkable storyteller whose deceptively simple collages are surprisingly expressive. A prolific writer and illustrator, he has over 94 books to his name. Some of my favorites are Swimmy, On My Beach There Are Many Pebbles, Inch by Inch, It’s Mine and my all time favorite, Frederick, a modern retelling of the grasshopper and the ants fable.
